Pfeiffer Online Conference 2010: Technical Requirements

Countdown to Your Online Forum

An email will be sent three (3) days prior to the start of the Pfeiffer Online Conference to all registered participants (or upon registration if it occurs less than 3 days before an event). This email will include the following items:

  • Your personalized Username and Password
  • A link to the Online Forums Resource page
Please watch your inbox and flag this important message when you receive it so you'll have the information you need to access the Pfeiffer Online Conference. These emails will be sent to the email address we have on file from your registration. If for some reason you have not received it 24 hours prior to the start of the Pfeiffer Online Conference, please contact Karen Hyder by email at or by phone at karen@karenhyder.com or (585) 370-2341.

In the interim, please review the following important information and take action where appropriate.

System Set-up and Configuration

To ensure that your participation in the Pfeiffer Online Conference is successful, please do the following at least 5 days before the start of your first Online Forum so if you do have technical challenges, you will have time to get them sorted out.

  • You must have a PC or Mac computer and while you can participate with a 56K dialup internet connection, it is recommended that you have a high-speed broadband (or better) internet connection.
  • If you are participating as part of a Site Registration, you will need one computer for each connection you intend to use. Depending on the size of your group, you may also wish to connect a data projector to the PC and project the image on a projection screen.
  • If you are participating as an Individual, you will need to have computer headset or speakers to hear the audio. You do not need a microphone. If your group is participating as a Site, you will need to have speakers that everyone in your room can hear.
  • When using Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional, please be sure you close as many open programs on your system as possible. Also, allocating as much bandwidth as you can to the sessions ensures optimal performance of the software. You'll find the System Requirements here.

Learn More About Adobe Acrobat Connect

Although easy to use, we encourage you to take a few minutes to learn about the major features of the software and to orient yourself to the interface. This will ensure that your learning curve does not interfere with your Online Conference participation.

To ensure that your participation in the Pfeiffer Online Conference is successful, we would like to ensure that your support needs are met. If you have utilized all the resources provided above and are still having difficulty please use following method to contact us:

  1. Send an email to Karen Hyder at karen@karenhyder.com.
